Softlink Information Centres’ Brisbane head office was the venue for July’s Liberty library management system training. The free, face-to-face, customer training sessions were fully booked, as enthusiast Liberty users joined Softlink IC’s Alex and Sarah for a fun and interesting day.

Delivered in a workshop style, the day was split into 2 training sessions.

The morning session, focussed on Liberty’s Advanced Cataloguing functionality, was tailored to meet the user’s specific questions. The afternoon session provided the users with a great overview of the new Liberty features and functions, and a demonstration of their use. We were excited to have one of our Liberty users from Fiji attend the training. Nalini Premadish, from the Pacific Theological College was in Brisbane to attend the ANZTLA Conference. Nalini commented that

“Liberty is a lifesaver to PTC in terms of its quick and efficient service.”

The college is planning an upgrade to Liberty v5. Nalini said that the training means she

“already knows what is expected from the upgrade.”

Following the sessions, Eve James from Roscoe Library, St Francis College, was

“looking forward to updating our home page … and changing our banner”.

And for Jill Walker, Malyon College, it was

“great to have instant answers and feedback to questions”.

All attendees praised Alex’s training delivery and style. Janet Nibbs from Trinity College Queensland commented that,

“Alex was so helpful in tailoring the session to our specific questions. An excellent day of P.D.”
