Highlights From Our User Group Meetings in Melbourne and Wellington

User Group Meetings line drawing

We recently held two engaging User Group Meetings (UGMs) in Oceania, bringing together our wonderful community of Liberty and illumin users. Our first UGM took place in Melbourne, Australia, on August 22nd, followed by another in Wellington, New Zealand, on September 5th. Our UGM’s are designed to provide attendees with insights, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities.

Melbourne UGM: Lively Discussions and Sharing

The Melbourne UGM was particularly special as we welcomed a diverse group of attendees, including a dedicated user who traveled all the way from Fiji. The day featured a mix of informative presentations, including the latest updates on Liberty and illumin, as well as interactive quizzes and brainstorming sessions. These sessions fostered lively discussions on new features, customer service enhancements, and strategies for improving library engagement.

The day provided an excellent opportunity for attendees to connect, share insights, and collaborate on innovative solutions.

Wellington UGM: A Collaborative Success Across the Tasman

Two weeks later, the Softlink team crossed the Tasman Sea to Wellington, New Zealand, for the second UGM. In a venue which had stunning views of Wellington Harbor, this event saw strong participation from our users in New Zealand. Like in Melbourne, the Wellington UGM featured a mix of presentations, interactive sessions, open discussions and a workshop, all aimed at enhancing user experiences and awareness raising for the library services on offer.

Liberty Digital

With the launch of Liberty Digital earlier this year, our UGMs were the perfect opportunity to get our users up to speed on its newest features. Participants received advanced training, provided feedback and explored how Liberty Digital can empower their collections with tools like an AI Metadata Assistant, a dedicated digital dashboard, SharePoint integration and more.

Strengthening Our User Community

It was wonderful to hit the road and spend time with our users in-person. Both the Melbourne and Wellington UGMs were a success, providing participants valuable learning experiences. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to these meetings. Our third, and final, UGM for Oceania will be held in Brisbane, Australia on 27 September 2024. If you’re able to attend, we’d love to see you there. Register to attend here
