Children and their idea of the NHS of the future

The NHS of the future complete with robots and rockets, feature in the competition winning entries of two primary school students. The drawing competition, organised by the Welsh government, was part of the NHS’s 70th anniversary celebrations.

World’s best public libraries and Canada’s strike rate!

The libraries of three Canadian cities – Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver made it into the top ten, of thirty libraries surveyed by researchers at the Heinrich Heine University Dusseldorf, ahead of libraries in cities such as London, New York, Tokyo, Amsterdam. The article focuses on the Toronto’s City Library and the spaces and services it provides. Not surprising that 70% of the city’s residents make use of this amazing place.

Findings of a new Pew Survey

Overviewed the Libray Journal’s Infodocket section of June 16th, the Pew Survey, ‘Distinguishing between Factual and Opinion Statements in the News’, confirms that many people are challenged when it comes to identifying factual, verifiable news from opinion. UK’s Health Information Week July 3rd-8th

For those UK medical libraries who wish to promote their services as part of the 2018 Health Information Week, here is lots of information on the Library Services NHS website to help you mark the Week. Each day will see a particular theme being promoted and includes links to ideas for health events, posters and postcards. Here’s to a successful week for all health libaries and organisations throughout the UK.
