This is a more powerful tool than ‘Search’ to explore insights into a researcher’s or a team’s work, because it gives a more comprehensive view of key information. These include; the number of requests in the system, how they were received, their statuses, and custom fields you’ve added. They can all be added to the Advanced Search feature screen within illumin, enabling you to pinpoint specific activities such as how many requests are open, closed or on hold. Additionally, the Advanced Search helps you track progress and uncover trends that might otherwise be hidden behind years and years of requests. If you do find a trend, you can tag or add a taxonomy to categorise that particular set of research requests.
Filters

Filters are another insightful feature in illumin that allow you to quickly find records. The filtered search feature also lets you apply search criteria for frequently used queries. You can apply a single filter to a search or use multiple filters to further refine your search. It adds value to your research team because it allows you to see research requests that were still active in the system, and the researcher they are assigned to. Your open requests filter to the top of your list once you apply those filters. What’s more, is that you can add custom columns and filter by them, including ‘Source’ or ‘Tags’ – adding further customization that’s easily applied.
Pinning Views

Customise the interface by pinning views, so you can view the information you need quickly and easily on the dashboard. This feature allows users to save and access frequently used views and filters. The pinned views button is located on the menu but won’t display until a view is created. For example, if you want to see all research requests that use the Email Channel, all you have to do is filter your search, save and pin the view. The saved view will then be attached to the ‘Pinned Views’ tab which all saved views will be saved under, making your tasks so much easier and faster to complete.
