Liberty Latest Features image
Published March 11, 2022

We’re getting 2022 off to a great start with the latest Liberty release. As usual, there’s something for everyone! It did provoke some discussion amongst the Softlink IC staff about what features to highlight and after much discussion, we came up with 6 of the new features we know will make using Liberty an even better experience than ever for our users.

Our Top 6 Picks

It was unanimous for some of the top 6, the others were included after a bit of lively “discussion”! You may find other features and enhancements may be your favorites, but here’s ours:

1. Custom Header images for HTML emails. Library staff can now use a different image at the top of emails for overdues, interests, and resource list emails.

2. Reservations can be restricted to local copies. Library staff can now also block users from reserving an item if it’s available at their own branch but permit users to reserve an item if it’s available at another branch.

3. There is now an option to waive all charges on a borrower’s record via the borrower’s Detail screen, at the click of a button! Or only charge after a grace period!

4. A Search tips popup which includes a button is now available on some of the Management search pages. Clicking on the button provides advice on Any Words searching.

5. User Lists can now be added to the Advanced Search screen in OPAC.

6. Library request emails from OPAC/Search can be set to include availability information.

We know you will enjoy using the latest Liberty v5 release. As usual, the full release notes can be found in the Help interface for your reference, so have a read. Our Hosted customers will be upgraded automatically, making access to the new version seamless.
