It was a fantastic turnout for Liberty’s Northern and Southern Hemisphere Virtual User Group Meetings (VUGMs).
Box Hill Institute (BHI) includes Degree, Diploma, and Certificate IV courses in Library Studies. The Institute uses Softlink IC’s Liberty library management system as a training tool for their students. The resulting practice data amused the Institute’s staff.
October saw Softlink hold its free Liberty Training and User Group Meetings in the UK, the second of which was held in beautiful Edinburgh. Hosted by Colin McDowall librarian at the Royal College of Physicians, it was attended by a small but enthusiastic group of users who travelled from the West Midlands and North East England to join those more locally based.
Almost forty librarians from government, public, academic, health, engineering and legal libraries took part in our New Zealand National User Conference and Masterclass in Wellington in June.
The 2018 calendar of the Liberty Training and User Group Meetings (UGMs) ended with the long-anticipated events in the UK. The first of the events kicked off in London on the 9th of October. Full of information sharing and interaction, it was enjoyed by all.
Almost 50 librarians from education, legal, university colleges, industry and government libraries took part in our Melbourne National Liberty User Group Conference and Masterclass in late August with some taking the opportunity to visit the MCC library. They all had a great time and we would again like to thank David Studham and library staff.
Held on the 18th and 25th of October respectively the hour long, web based, Liberty boot camp training sessions proved extremely popular. Feedback from those who have attended so far show that it was extremely beneficial.
Softlink and AIT are heading to Townsville for the QPLA LEaD Conference, taking place from March 24-28, 2025! Samantha and Suzana will be at the AIT booth (B09), ready to connect with library professionals from across Queensland.
The response to Softlink IC’s second #gotknowledge Library Survey has been outstanding with many librarians and library staff already sharing their feedback with us. We are excited to see that the 2021 survey will be bigger and better than last year. The survey closing date has been extended to the 31st of August, so don’t miss your chance to participate if you haven’t already!
Softlink IC’s innovative boot camp series kicked off this year on the 3rd and 10th of February.
